The exhibition is structured around three main themes: memory, technology, and environment, connecting Korea's fascinating past with its technological advancements and futuristic aspirations.
An Artistic Exploration of Korea
"Decoding Korea" provides a genuine reflection on Korean society and its contemporary art. The featured artists – KANG Yiyun, KIM Heecheon, KWON Hayoun, Ram Han, ROOMTONE, PARK Junebum, LEE Yongbaek, LEE Lee-nam, YEOM Ji Hye, and JUNG Yeondoo – use digital arts to explore notions of memory and historical contexts specific to their country. These creators, born between the late 1960s and the early 1990s, have witnessed Korea’s rapid transformation, notably through accelerated industrialization.

The exhibition covers various themes such as the division of the Korean peninsula, rapid industrialization, technological advances, and environmental challenges. Through immersive tools like virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and mapping, "Decoding Korea" allows visitors to deeply immerse themselves in contemporary Korean culture. The opening took place on July 25, in the presence of the Korean Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. This project is also part of the Cultural Olympiad, a series of artistic and multidisciplinary events organized during the Summer Games, running until September 8.
