Did you know that it is possible to admire works of art in the heart of Paris without going to a museum? Until March 31, you can stroll through the charming streets of the Haussmann district in the 9ᵉ arrondissement of the capital to discover Michel Bassompierre's magnificent sculptures in the outdoor exhibition "Fragiles Colosses"
This exhibition features giant statues of bears and gorillas, created by the sculptor to highlight both the power and vulnerability of these animals, now considered endangered species. In 2021, this exhibition already took place in the Jardin des Plantes, but this time you can discover these works while walking between the Opera Theater and the Galeries Lafayette.
The exhibition also presents a new work called "Le Mélèze", the largest ever made by the artist. The softness of the shapes and colors of the giant animals contrasts with their power and size, while reflecting their fragility in the face of the uncertainty of the conservation of their ecosystem. Through his creations, the artist wishes to sensitize society to the preservation of the environment and the protection of animals.
Michel Bassompierre offers visitors a moment of reflection and admiration of nature in the magnificent setting of the City of Light. This exhibition is an event not to be missed!
Until March 31, 2023. Boulevard Haussmann, 30 minutes by metro from the Hotel Moderniste.
