Each year, fans of fantasy worlds and Japanese culture eagerly await this moment. In May 2026, that anticipation will be rewarded with an unprecedented combo: for the first time, the Salon Fantastique and Japan Party are joining forces to offer a shared weekend, from May 23 to 25, at the Parc Floral de Paris. An edition that promises three days of total immersion, blending medieval fantasy and Japanese pop culture.
An unprecedented alliance between two iconic worlds
On one side, the realm of fantasy: knights in armor, legendary creatures, elves, wizards, and epic heroes straight out of novels and role-playing games. On the other, the vibrant energy of contemporary Japanese culture: manga, anime, cosplay, martial arts, and cuisine from the Land of the Rising Sun. Two worlds that may seem opposed at first glance, yet prove perfectly complementary once brought together under the same sky of the Bois de Vincennes.
This fusion is one of the major highlights of the 2026 edition. Visitors will be able to move in just a few steps from a Japanese calligraphy workshop to a medieval combat demonstration, or compare a collectible manga figurine with a replica knight’s sword. It’s a unique visitor experience that goes far beyond the scope of traditional conventions.
What to expect over three days
- More than 400 exhibitors to enrich your collections: Artisans, illustrators, authors, and creators of all kinds will transform the pathways of the Parc Floral into a true marketplace of the extraordinary. Original works, rare accessories, limited editions, and handmade items create an offering as rich as it is diverse. Whether you're a collector or simply curious, each stand is worth lingering over.
- Activities and shows all day long: The program leaves no room for boredom: cosplay contests and parades open to all, conferences on science fiction and manga, martial arts initiations, K-pop demonstrations, and gaming sessions for all skill levels. Not to mention creative workshops designed for both adults and children. The event can be experienced at your own pace, with something new to discover every hour.
- Cuisine to match the atmosphere: The food offering perfectly reflects the hybrid spirit of the weekend. Food stalls will serve both traditional Japanese specialties and dishes inspired by grand medieval feasts. A great way to extend the immersion right onto your plate—and take a delicious break between activities.
