The honesty bar at Hôtel Moderniste rests on a simple idea: giving guests the freedom to shape their own moment. No reservation, no waiting, no flagging down a bartender. Just come down, choose a drink, and pour it yourself. It's a format that suits the spirit of the Parisian Left Bank where the hotel sits: understated, unfussy, but always considered in the details.
A new selection by Argotier
For this new season, Hôtel Moderniste has brought a selection of ready-to-drink cocktails from the French brand Argotier to its honesty bar. Made in the Île-de-France region from organic or locally sourced spirits and ingredients, with no colourings or preservatives, these cocktails are designed to be served simply over ice, no equipment or technique required — the very spirit of self-service.
Four cocktails make up the selection:
- La Fraîche a green, floral cocktail made with French gin, elderflower liqueur, organic lemon juice, pressed cucumber and fresh mint. Light and refreshing, it's a fine way to open the evening.
- Le Fripon a tangy, exotic cocktail blending organic French vodka, lychee liqueur, blackberry cream and lemon juice, lifted with a touch of homemade lemongrass cordial.
- La Mandale a bold, tropical cocktail built on homemade spiced rum, mango liqueur, organic pineapple juice, lime and a hint of chilli. The most fiery of the selection.
- L'Espresso Martini Argotier's take on the timeless classic, with organic French vodka, coffee liqueur and pure organic arabica. An ideal choice for a longer evening.
Each bottle is named after a French slang term, a playful reminder that these cocktails were made to be shared without ceremony, much like the honesty bar itself.
