The sun is back in Paris, and we all crave a bit of nature. What better way to enjoy it than by taking a stroll in a park? The capital is full of parks and gardens to escape for a day. Here are our suggestions!
Jardin des Plantes (Botanical Garden)
Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, Jardin des Plantes invites you on a true journey through the world of plants. You'll discover medicinal plants, plants used for pigments in dye-making, aromatic and cosmetic plants, and fragrant varieties. The official website of the garden also offers several themed trails and treasure hunts to explore the immense variety of plants, such as alpine species in the Alpine Garden, trees from North America, and astonishing flowers from Asia. Additionally, it is home to the National Museum of Natural History, which we recently mentioned highlighting the “Felines” exhibition!
Jardin du Luxembourg (Luxembourg Gardens)
In the heart of the 6th arrondissement of Paris, Jardin du Luxembourg is a highly popular park among Parisians and tourists alike. It is home to the current seat of the Senate, the Luxembourg Palace. Here, you can enjoy nature while admiring the architectural beauty and the numerous sculptures that decorate the garden. Moreover, a replica of the Statue of Liberty can be found on one of the paths in this garden. Will you be able to find it?
Jardin des Tuileries (Tuileries Garden)
Located a stone's throw away from the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde, Jardin des Tuileries is an iconic place in the capital. Since 1991, it has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can admire magnificent statues and relax near the numerous ponds inhabited by ducks and fish.
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
Situated in the 19th arrondissement, a bit further from the most touristy areas, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is one of the largest green spaces in Paris. Its design was conceived to replicate a mountainous landscape. You can stroll among rocks, cliffs, waterfalls, and streams, almost feeling like you've left Paris!
Parc Georges Brassens
If you're staying at the Hotel Moderniste, you shouldn't miss Parc Georges Brassens, a true green gem of Paris. This peaceful park offers a relaxed atmosphere and is known for its expansive lawns, landscaped gardens, and greenhouses housing a variety of exotic plants. You can wander among the trees and flower beds or simply relax while admiring the natural beauty of this green space.
We wish you excellent sunny days in the heart of the City of Light!
