Tutankhamun Exhibition 2026

Tutankhamun Exhibition 2026

Experience it from Hôtel Moderniste

The story begins in 1922, when Howard Carter opened a door sealed for 33 centuries and uncovered one of the most extraordinary treasures ever brought to light: a golden mask, royal jewellery, funerary furniture, weapons, instruments. A discovery that changed the world's understanding of ancient Egypt, and whose resonance has never faded. This summer at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the exhibition Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures brings that archaeological adventure back to life, across 2,500 m², with a full-scale reconstruction of the burial chambers and nearly 1,000 objects restored to their original context. And from Hôtel Moderniste, you're minutes away.

A unique reconstruction, overseen by Egyptologists

The exhibition takes an uncompromising approach: no isolated display cases, no objects stripped of their context. The pharaoh's four burial chambers are restored to their exact layout at the moment of Carter's discovery, their volumes, sequence and density of objects intact. Nearly 1,000 pieces were reproduced with exceptional precision by Egyptian master craftsmen, under rigorous scientific supervision. What Paris is offering this summer is something no museum can show with the original artefacts: Tutankhamun's treasure as a coherent, complete whole.

Total immersion: sound, image, virtual reality

The experience goes beyond visual reconstruction. The photographs of Harry Burton, "the eye and memory of Carter", dispatched by the Metropolitan Museum to document every stage of the excavation, are presented in colour for the first time, through Dynamichrome technology, in a world exclusive. Hollywood composers provide the soundscape throughout the visit. A 360° immersive room and a virtual reality experience allow visitors to walk through the tomb as Carter did in November 1922. An audio guide is included with every ticket.
