“Le Bélisaire” is a French cuisine restaurant located near the city hall of the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
The decor is classic: woodwork, illustrations, an old-fashioned counter, and typical red bistro benches that also remind us of the benches we chose for our winter garden at the Modernist Hotel!
In the kitchen, Chef Matthieu Garrel leads the team and creates the menu items. He describes his cuisine as “original and joyful”. Following his experiences in renowned restaurants in England, Brittany, and Paris, he decided to open Bélisaire in 2001 with the aim of offering quality gastronomic cuisine while making it more accessible to the public. Thanks to his technical skills and great mastery of local products, he received the prestigious title of Master Chef of France in 2014 and was promoted to the Order of Agricultural Merit in 2017 for his ability to highlight French agriculture.
The menu is regularly updated to reflect the seasons and offer the freshest ingredients. Among the signature dishes, you can taste Japanese-style oysters, a delicious foie gras with cockles, or a magnificent Hare à la royale. Each season inspires the chef to create new tasty and surprising recipes, always respecting local products.
In the dining room, a good mood prevails. You will be welcomed by a dynamic team from starred restaurants who will attend to you with kindness and discretion during your meal.
Le Bélisaire is an authentic restaurant with a true spirit of a traditional French bistro. You will be surprised by the creativity and inventiveness of the chef, who presents a menu that appears traditional but surprises with subtly worked flavors.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Friday and is just a 10-minute walk from the Hotel Moderniste.
