The Lucas Carton restaurant is a true institution of gastronomic cuisine in Paris. Located in the elegant and historic Madeleine district, it was inaugurated in 1839, when the building in which it is located was designed by the architect Charpentier.
The restaurant was named “La Taverne de France” in 1860 and became the most fashionable place in Paris at the time of Napoleon III. In 1880, it was renamed “Lucas” and decorated by French cabinetmaker Louis Majorelle, who made it a beautiful example of Art Nouveau. During four long years of work, Majorelle carved all the woodwork in maple, lemon and sycamore, perfectly respecting the spirit of the time. His work has been classified in the inventory of cultural heritage of historical monuments, which has given even more prestige to the restaurant.
The name “Carton” was given to the restaurant in 1924, when Mr. Carton became the new owner. Several generations of chefs have apprenticed in this historic establishment, which has now been in existence for three centuries. Currently, Chef Hugo Bourny is in charge of the kitchen at this prestigious restaurant. With over 15 years of experience working with famous chefs such as Arnaud Donckele, Hélène Darroze, and many others, friendships have introduced him to the Vranken family, owners of Lucas Carton.
His cuisine is based on the search for balance on the plate, on emotion and on intuition. He uses the best of the French products, accompanied by a high level team. His recipes reflect the chef's background, his roots, and his products.
Three menus are offered, in 4, 5 or 7 courses, with the possibility of adding a wine pairing. If you prefer to make your choice independently, all creations are also available à la carte.
As you can see, at Lucas Carton, you will live an unforgettable gastronomic experience in a historic Art Nouveau style setting in the heart of Paris.
